New Youth2000 analysis demonstrates value of school-based health services
In a recent analysis of Youth12 data, Dr Simon Denny and colleagues found that students using team-based school-based health services had much better mental health, compared with those not using these services. Students using team-based school-based health services had a:
4.7% probability of high levels of depressive symptoms (cf 14.2% among students not using these services)
4% probability of high levels of emotional and behavioral difficulties (cf 13% among students not using these services)
2% probability of a suicide attempt in the previous 12 months (cf 5.6% among students not using these services)
