New factsheets explore alcohol use and alcohol harm among adolescents in Aotearoa

We are excited to release four new factsheets exploring alcohol use and alcohol harm among Aotearoa secondary school students, along with an associated technical report. These resources draw on Youth2000 survey data and are developed in partnership with Alcohol Healthwatch.

Fact sheet 1: Drinking patterns among secondary school students presents trends in alcohol use among secondary school students based on Youth 2000 survey data.

Fact sheet 2: Risk and protective factors for alcohol use among secondary school students presents findings about factors in family/whānau, school and community settings that are associated with higher or lower likelihood of risky drinking.

Fact sheet 3: Alcohol harm among secondary school students presents findings about self-reported consequences of alcohol use among adolescents such as being injured, having unsafe sex, or school work being affected.

Fact sheet 4: Sources of alcohol and harm among secondary students presents findings about where young people usually get alcohol from, and the relationship between alcohol source and risky drinking.
