Supplementary school environment surveys will add value to student data

As well as surveying students, we're gathering info about the school environment in participating schools. Members of senior management and those leading health services in each school completed the School Environment Survey and the School Health Services Survey, which asked about health service provision and school policies and support for wellbeing.

We'll use school environment data alongside student data to explore how aspects of school environment affect student health, behaviour and wellbeing. The school-level data will provide important indicators of the supports available to schools and their health services, and how such supports influence student wellbeing. All information collected is confidential – no staff member, school or student will be identified in any publication from this project.

Findings will be used to develop policies and interventions to improve student wellbeing.
