Period poverty among Pasifika youth – Dr Jemaima Tiatia-Seath on One News

Our data show that Māori and Pacific students are disproportionately affected by period poverty. Of those who have had their first period, 15% of Māori & 14% of Pacific students (compared with 5% of European students) have missed school due to a lack of menstrual items.
